The Shadow

This activity I created using LCD projectors to turn my gym into a obstacle course, where players use their body's shadow, to play the game. Students are about 4 feet from the 15 foot high projected screen. I used power point to make the animations. If you are interested in the power point file then leave a comment below.

Some tips

Students move counter clockwise around gym.

Make sure students are not too close to the wall when playing because

it is really hard to see the screen when you are too close

  1. Wow! I just discovered your blog this morning through PE Universe and I am quite impressed! I love using technology in physical education class because it makes teaching and learning so much better. Any chance you would be willing to send me that shadow obstacle course?
    Thanks,
    Brian

  6. I wish I had such a cool gym teacher! (although projectors weren't really readily available when I was in elementary gym).

How/where did you station the projectors around the room? are they suspended from the ceiling or did you have them on a cart?

    1. Ah!! This is AWESOME!! I wish I could use this in the school where I teach gym to Pre-K through 3rd, but it is a Christian school and a lot of the parents and kids who attend do not like anything Halloween related :(
